Wild Moon

Yesterday was a funny sort of day.

Everything felt a bit edgy and I found it difficult to focus, but couldn’t work out why.

Then, in the evening, I took the gorgeous girl to her dance class and there it was. The Super Blue Blood Moon, sailing above the trees like a golden lantern. It was beautiful. I took a couple of photos, but my phone really couldn’t do it justice.

I don’t know if any of you subscribe to the theory that the moon and its phases somehow influence our mood. Personally, I find that the full moon pulls at me, sending me a little bit wild. Maybe it’s just my imagination, maybe I’m part werewolf, or maybe it’s some long dormant part of us that responds to nature and its cycles, no matter how divorced from the land we’ve become.

I really don’t know. All I know is, yesterday was a funny sort of day.

Hope the moon was good to you. Oh, and Happy Imbolc!

  1. What great pics, Helen! It was cloudy here so I didn’t get to see it. I must be part werewolf too then, as I am drawn too a full moon! Have you ever heard Van Morrison’s song, “Moon Dance”? Cher xo

  2. The moon is mother natures looking glass, her herald, her receiver, her hour glass and her/ our night light. Apols, Not sure why I just said that. Must be the moons influence.

BTW, I believe I may very well be the worlds first weregoat. X

  3. I watched it from the window of an aircraft – didn’t think to take a photo, it might have been fabulously clear, though there wouldn’t have been anything up there to give a scale. I did wonder why I felt edgy until I saw it.

  4. Happy Imbolc to you too! (Googled that). There’s a red squiggle there so I’m not the only one who didn’t know hahaha! We had a regular moon down in the southern hemisphere but I moved to a new place and could see it shining in my window every night which is quite lovely. The pictures did it no justice though. I’m glad you got to enjoy the blood blueness of it all from there.
