Hi everyone!
Just a very short post to let you know that I’m currently running a giveaway on Goodreads for five signed paperback copies of Oak and Mist, the first book in my Ambeth Chronicles series.
‘The end of everything? Great, no pressure then.’
Alma Bevan didn’t mean to go on a quest.
But when she disappears between two trees at her local park and reappears in Ambeth, she finds they’ve been expecting her.
And now she has to find a lost sword or the consequences for humanity will be dire. With no idea where to look, despite help from her new friend Caleb, things become even more complicated when a handsome prince of the Dark expresses an interest in her.
All this plus homework too?
Travelling between worlds is hard enough without having to manage a suspicious best friend, complicated love interests and concerned parents. Add in some time-twisting, a mysterious bracelet and a group of immortal beings all vying for control of a lost sword, and it’s enough to make any fifteen year old girl want to give up. But then she wouldn’t see Caleb any more. Or Deryck…’
Here’s what some lovely Amazon reviewers have had to say about Oak and Mist:
‘a fine example of the genre’
‘a page turner, I found it very difficult to put down’
‘had me hooked from the very beginning’
‘great YA Fantasy adventure novel’
The competition runs until Aug 15, so if you’re interested, please visit Goodreads and take a look. I’m also working on finalising the cover for book two, No Quarter, and hope to have something to share with you soon.
Hope everyone’s enjoying their Wednesday!
xx Helen
Awesome, your on my list of TBR – where’s the link to good reads? Will tweet this too π
Thanks Sacha!
Ignore me – it’s in your post! Lol
ok no don’t ignore me – that link sends me to a general goodreads home page. Haven’t a scoobies what to do to enter. But have shared on G+ and twitter for you π good luck with it.
Thanks Sacha – that’s very kind of you. I tried to get a link to the giveaway but all Goodreads gives you is HTML code that you’re supposed to add to your site to create a widget – however when I tried to do it I just ended up with a big jumble of text. So the general link was the best I could do, unless someone out there knows how to make the widget work π
Can you pop the link in as a comment? I wasn’t able to find what to do on your author page. :s
It’s a fairly huge amount of text so I don’t know if it will work as a comment. However, if you put in the title Oak and Mist in Goodreads, then go to the book page, the giveaway is there. Sorry, I wish I could figure this stuff out! I’m not so bad on computers but sometimes they stump me π
It must be me – I’ve tried to do that and can’t see a give away :s don’t worry it’s probably just me x
Oh no, it might be me! You know how Goodreads send you to a page with the image of the book, then you click on that – then the giveaway is underneath the description, with a button for entering. At least that’s what I see when I go there. Thanks for the heads up, wonder if anyone else is having trouble seeing it? Maybe I should contact Goodreads…
No it’s me – my phone was being weird sorry to have confused u! Lol my bad
No worries, glad you can see it now. And thanks for the lovely tweet! xx
No worries keep reminding me and I’ll keep sharing – looks like u have had hundreds enter already ππππ
I know! I keep wondering if I’ve written it wrong and they think I’m giving away some other, more popular book LOL. Or more than five copies (it is only five). It’s been quite amazing to see the response, to be honest.
It’s fantastic nothing better than seeing a comrade smash it πππ gives the rest of us hope. I also hope it drives sales for u. π
Thanks Sacha – I hope it does lead to a few more people reading the book, and then wanting to read the next ones in the series as well! I’ll let you know how it goes π
Good luck with your giveaway, Helen!
Thanks Ali! Looking forward to seeing you this Saturday π
Me too; do you have far to travel?
No, not at all – just 25 minutes on the train then walk from Euston, so I’m quite lucky. Are you coming for the weekend, or just a night? Or just the day? π
I’m flying over Friday night, back on Sunday
Oh, lovely, a nice weekend away π
Yes, freedom!!!
Wow! Thanks for sharing! Will check it out π
You’re very welcome – thanks so much for looking!
