Hi everyone! Just a quick update to say hello. I’ve not been around much in blogworld these past couple of weeks, as summer holidays are here plus we’re doing (another) renovation so I’ve not had a lot of time to spend online recently. I also want to welcome a whole bunch of new followers to the blog – thanks so much for choosing to come on the Journey with me π
The other reason I’ve not been around as much is that, when I do get some computer time, I’m busy working on a couple of books. A Thousand Rooms has come back from the lovely Esther Newton, so I’m now doing the final edit on that. Plus the fourth Ambeth book, Under Stone, is written but there are a few structural things still to sort out. And, even though Silver and Black is officially ‘resting’ at the moment, it’s still speaking to me, little notes and ideas popping up that need to be recorded and addressed. And finally, I’m working on a couple of shorter pieces too.
I’ll pop in and out of blogs as much as I’m able to at the moment, so please forgive me if I’m not as present as usual. Oh, and I hope you’re all enjoying a lovely summer (or, in the case of my Aussie friends, a nice winter).
Happy authoring Helen π
Thanks Chris! π
Hello Helen – happy Summer π
Hello Lucy! Happy Summer to you too π
Hi Helen! I didn’t know you were renovating! How much longer do you have until it’s done? Hooray for final edits, and I look forward to maybe getting to peek at those shorter pieces.
Summer finally got good on this side of the globe. Of course, this happens when it’s almost over, but better late than never.
Hello Miss Ray π Well this round of renovations has been going for a few weeks, hopefully just another week or so to go. It’s mostly external, but there’s still a bit of organising etc to be done. Then this house is pretty much done (except for the loft extension I’m thinking about doing in a few years time… ;-D) Glad to hear summer finally got good for you, it’s trying here and I must say it’s been a lot warmer than last summer, so that’s nice π Hope you’re well and loving life xx
I’m loving life a lot more after the beach trip I took on Monday. It’s the first one I’ve taken all summer. I was working too much and getting stressed out, so I’m glad I went away even though I didn’t have much money.
Sometimes you just have to take time away for yourself, don’t you? It’s so worth doing. I’m glad you feel good after your beach trip, a little bit of ozone does everyone good π
Amen to that! A little sand in places where you didn’t know it could go, getting knocked over by waves and eating beach-specific goodies… you can’t go wrong!
That is a wonderful way to describe it, spot on! Sounds like a great trip π
I’ve taken to just catching up as I can with blogging. Usually involves one day in the week for proper catch up. I’ve found this helps me to focus more on other things. π
Yes, I’m trying to do something similar, spend a set amount of time each day following up, then getting on with other things. There are so many great blogs out there I just don’t have time in the day to see them all! π
Exactomundo! π
Enjoy your summerβwe’re well and truly over winter here … Good luck with ‘A Thousand Rooms’! Looking forward to reading it in its final form! x
Thanks, Louise π It’s been another glorious sunny day today, actually, which has been really nice.
And the ATR edit is coming along well – a few small changes but mostly just fixing typos etc. I’m hoping to get it out soonish, though there are a couple of agents I’m still waiting to hear from, so we’ll see…
