Yay! I’ve made my way through the tangle of formatting and emerged on the other side ready to hit the big red Publish button. A Thousand Rooms, my fourth novel, is now available to purchase through Amazon.
A stand-alone novel, A Thousand Rooms follows the story of suddenly-dead Katie and is set in Sydney, Australia, where I lived for a couple of years.
You don’t wake up expecting to die…
Katie is thirty-two, single, and used to work in advertising. She’s also dead. A lost soul hitching rides with the dying, trying to find her way to… wherever she’s supposed to be.
And whoever she’s supposed to be with.
Heaven, it seems, has a thousand rooms. What will it take to find hers?
I’m thrilled to finally have A Thousand Rooms out, almost two years to the day I started writing it. I’ve had a lot of help along the way, and really do appreciate all your support. I’ll be visiting a few blogs in upcoming weeks to talk about the book a little more and in the meantime, if you decide to treat yourself to a copy, thank you and I hope you enjoy it!
Congratulations! I’m ordering my copy as soon as I get off the M6 (no, I’m not driving) and have a decent internet connection. X
Ooh, thanks so much, Louise! I have a paperback copy to send your way too (you are in the acknowledgement, after all). Hopefully I can give it to you when we finally meet up 🙂
Thanks, Stuart 🙂
Whoohoo!!! That’s so exciting, congratulations!!
Yay! Thank you so much, I’m really pleased to get it out there 🙂 And thank you for all your lovely beta reading help too x
Congrats, lovely lady! This is fantastic. Glad you made it through the jungle of formatting. I’m looking forward to reading this. 🙂
Thanks so much, Sarah – it’s nice to be on the other side. Hope you make it through soon 🙂 xx
Reblogged this on Sue Vincent – Daily Echo and commented:
Thanks so much for sharing, Sue! xx
good for you Helen; always exciting..
Thanks, Geoff! Well, I like to keep up appearances ;-D
Thank you, Mary 🙂
Many, many congratulations!
Thanks so much, Dylan 🙂
Bravo!! … A thousand congratulations!!! 😀
Thank you so much! I’m so pleased it’s finally out there 🙂
I commend you for all your hard work. I’ll go pick up my copy now! I got a new job and a baby to tend to so it may take awhile to complete, but when I do. I’ll let you know what I think and give you a review. Again…Great job, Helen!
Anthony, thank you so much! That’s so great of you 🙂 And all the best with the new job, too (you already know I think the baby is gorgeous) x
You are too kind! Also Nano is right around the corner. Are you going to participate in this one as well or will you take a breather this year and skip it?
Oh, I think I might skip this one this year 🙂 I have a couple of novels I’m working on at the moment, but one is at a structural stage and the other is about 2/3 done, so neither would suit NaNo. Are you thinking of giving it a go? It sounds as though life is pretty busy already at your end!
I have a novel I’m 2/3 done with as well. Hopefully with the new job, I can finish it next month, but no I won’t be in nano this year. We’lol catch it next year 😊
Oh, that’s exciting! Fingers crossed for you to finish next month – I hope it works out for you 🙂
Congratulations. Looking forward to our interview.
Thanks, Craig! Yes, hoping to get something to you in the next day or so. It will be interesting to see what Lisa thinks about the afterlife…
Congrats, Helen! It sounds wonderful! Will have to get my copy. 🙂
Thanks so much, Rachael! That’s so kind of you xx
Congrats on your new book! Now pause in the warm glow of your laurels!! 😉
Thanks so much, Linda! Yes, it will be nice to relax for a few minutes, at least 😀
Yes I’m so excited. Congrats Helen!
Yay! Thanks, Kristin x
Yay! Best of luck with it 🙂
Yay! Thanks, Steve xx
Congratulations, Helen! A Thousand Rooms sounds really intriguing, and I can’t wait to read it!
Thanks so much, Kate! I’ll send you a copy soonish, if that’s okay 🙂

Huraaaaaaay so pleased for you. Amazing news, you’re building quite the catalogue of books now 💖💖💖
Thanks, Sacha 🙂 It’s taken a few years, but it’s nice to have it happening now. I’m really pleased to have A Thousand Rooms out, it’s quite different to my other books and I hope it gets a good response.
Many congratulations on the new book, Helen.
I hope to be not too far behind you. 😃
Thanks, Hugh! Look forward to your release date, hope it’s not too far away 🙂
A few more weeks yet, Helen. Dec 9th.
Awesome! Let me know if I can help at all x
Thanks, Helen. Will do.
Congratulations! Lets have a launch party! 😁😙💕 Chuffed for you, its an excellent book! All the best with it. Xxx
Thanks so much, Ali! I’m having a little bit of a blog wander this week and the next (yourself included) – maybe one day I’ll be able to have an actual launch party! 🙂 I’m really pleased it’s out too – it feels odd to say about my own work, but I really like this story.
Fantastic, Helen! Good to know you’ve not been sitting twiddling your thumbs
Yes, no thumb-twiddling here! 😀 Thanks, Graeme.
The cover, with red heels, looks chick lit (ugh), the blurb sounds different. Which is it? And it’s Sydney somit MUST be good. (Note to self, write a Sydney novel.)
It’s not chick lit – unless it’s a sort of twisted speculative chick lit haha. The shoes are symbolic through the story – the cover style does fit the style of book though, it’s quite modern.
And yes, Sydney is the setting – it’s a great city, isn’t it?
Looks chick lit to me. Seriously.
well, you’ll just have to read it and find out 😉 I can assure you it’s not though…
Telling my coworkers about this because I feel they need to read good writing. Congrats!
Thanks so much, Kay 🙂 I really appreciate your support, and am so pleased you’re enjoying my writing x
And I’ve written ‘Kay’ instead of Kris – so sorry! I must have been thinking about your Twitter name – I do apologise x
Congrats Helen! 🙂
Thanks, Debby! 🙂
